I love my Grandma’s farm. It was only 2 rooms when they moved there. Now, it has around 10. Each was added as needed over the years. I’ve always admired the handmade cupboards, built in cabinets in Grandma’s bedroom & the main bath. My great uncles or some other family members must have built them since buying pre made things or hiring work out just wasn’t something that was done. I an not sure where to incorporate these, but I definitely want to build something inspired by them somewhere in our house. Maybe the big bedroom? Dining room? Laundry?
In addition to the awesome gingerbread house at the Gunther House I shared recently, the actual house is stunning. And the restaurant inside has super yummy food. Free rolls are taken to a whole new level when the place is a flour mill. Y’all, the blueberry mini muffins were so good I stole one right out of Patsy’s hand & gave her another (almost as) yummy kind instead. True story. And my nomination for mom of the year. Anyway, everyone loved lunch, but beware holidays = packed & slow service. It’s a nice wait though since there’s so much to gawk at, at least for an old house geek like me.
My favorites were the upstairs deck, light fixtures, bathroom tile floor, sconces, picture railing, hardwood floors, blueberry muffins, ceiling beams & woodwork. Here are photos, except of the mufins. We ate them too fast to photograph. 😉
